How To Prepare "JAMAICAN SAUCE".

Now this is a new one, "innit"?

I actually made a food post sometime last year  (HERE)  but haven't felt inclined to make another since I stay in a student's hostel and do not eat rich delicacies as often. But, I tried something new "Hallelujah!"

My Big cousin is a sucker for very rich and nutritious meals, and most times, while cooking, I'd sneak into the kitchen to learn a thing or two. Here's one of the very special ones I SOMEHOW managed to save money and time to prepare. It's called the "Jamaican Sauce", and can serve so many people at a time depending on the quantity of ingredients used.

Jamaican Sauce is  style of cooking, native to Jamaica and can prepared following these simple steps.

  • Cabbage
  • Maggi
  • Carrot
  • Green pepper
  • Green peas
  • Tatashii
  • Tomatoes (Nearly Ripe)
  • Shombo pepper
  • Onion
  • Fresh pepper
  • Beef or suya
  •  and Soy Sauce(Preferably Amoy Soy Sauce), but I used this one.

  • Prepare your stock ( Boil your meat and add the necessary ingredients)
  • Get a separate pot and pour in a reasonable amount of G.Oil into it, allow to heat for sometime.
  • Add your chopped onion, and tomatoes.
  • Add your meat and allow to steam for sometime.
  • Add the sliced green pepper and the shombo and then the carrot.
  • Add 6 to 7 tablespoons of the soy sauce.
  • After about 5 minutes, add the sliced cabbage.
  • Stir, then add maggi, and allow to steam for some minutes before putting off your gas.

Jamaican Sauce can be served with White Rice, Spaghetti, Yam or Pasta.
